Setting your year up for Happiness and Success.
Today is the second day of a brand new year. 2018 is done and we are now in the Year 2019.
For many including myself, this provides an opportunity for a blank slate.
With this spirit in mind what can be done to ensure that 2019 be your most successful year yet?
Having clear cut goals in all the important areas of your life along with clear cut action plans are what sets apart real goals from wishful thinking.
Invest in a notebook, planner or even an mobile phone app to keep your goals on track.
I have gone the app route before and personally, loved using the fabulous app.

If you are looking for ideas for which to create goals around these are a few basics things you can create goals around.
Everyone should make creating and sticking to a budget one of most important goals of 2019.
Maybe you want to buy a house, travel or just plan ahead for emergency expenses, having a budget and sticking with it will help you tailor the successful life of your dreams.
I once heard somewhere “what isn’t measured can’t be improved upon”.
A budget will help you see what’s coming in and what is (and how fast it is) going out. You should create a yearly, weekly and monthly budget and keep track of it to see if you are hitting your goals.
Health and Fitness
The New Year creates a perfect opportunity to create some new health and fitness goals.
There are so many resources available for just about any fitness goal.
If you have been sedentary for a while it is a good idea that you go check with your physician so you both can come up with an action plan that will fit into your current lifestyle and health care needs.
Youtube has a wealth of easy to follow fitness videos for basically any fitness level and you can go at your own pace with minimal to no equipment.
No need for expensive gym memberships.
If you are overweight or just been feeling sluggish maybe a new diet/detox might be in order.
One thing that might prove very helpful is a food journal.
A food journal is a great way to log what and how much you eat in a day. Over time you will begin to see a pattern.
Are you an emotional eater? Do you develop a headache, stomach aches or colds after eating a certain type of foods? You might also be surprised at how much you really eat.
Yes, 2019 is the year that you finally take care of you.
It might seem odd but scheduling time to take care of yourself whether that means pampering yourself or setting aside time to reflect on your day is critically important for you to be at your absolute best this year.
We often make time for everything and everyone else in our busy lives that we tend to leave ourselves last and depleted.
A good self-care tip is creating or enforcing proper boundaries this year.
It is ok to say no to anything that doesn’t serve you. Its ok to cry if you feel hurt or discourage. Allowing yourself to feel all our emotions with the same compassion that we often give to others is not just necessary but essential.
You can not pour from an empty cup.
Be sure to nurture the most important person in your life…You.
