Adaptogens are plants, herbs or roots that help the body reduce stress and put the human body in a state of balance.
Studies have shown that “adaptogens can non-specifically enhance the resistance of human body under a wide range of external stress conditions” (physical, chemical or biological stress).
These substances regulate the immune system, improve certain disorders of the nervous system and have anti-fatigue effects.
After my dad died of kidney disease, I battled with anxiety and depression for years.
It got so bad I started having panic attacks whenever I went to crowded places.
Living a busy life being a young mother, caregiver and working full time was stressful at times.
I started taking xanax to help with my anxiety but wanted to try something in my opinion safer (no addiction risks) and more natural.
Adaptogens was just what I was looking for. I noticed the affects quickly; I was sleeping better. I felt calm and confident.
Suprisingly I even looked better and had a ton of energy. My sex life improved as well going from being uninterested to excited.

Ashwagandha Root Withania Somnifera is my favorite Adaptogen.
Also known as Indian ginseng, posion gooseberry or winter cherry it is a plant in the nightshade family.
It greatly reduce my anxiety and boost my libido. If you want try an adaptogen I suggest this be the one. They are available in powders, tablets and tinctures.
Shatavari also known as Asparagus racemosus is used in Ayurveda medicine to support digestion and the female reproductive system and fertility.
It helps with developing breast milk, strengthens the immune system and has been used in Ayurveda to cure coughs.
I found that it gave me energy through my day. This powerhouse Adaptogen can be found in pills, powders or tinctures.
Panax GinsengPanax Ginseng is a plant that grows in mountainous parts of Asia.
This adaptogen is a potent antioxidant that helps reduce inflammation.
It can help with increasing energy levels, and for men it helps with Erectile Dysfunction.
Studies have shown that it could help lower blood sugar. Try it in pill form or a tonic.
Rhodiola is found in cold mountainous regions in Europe and Asia.
I like Rhodiola because this gives me both energy and stamina.
As an adaptogen Rhodiola is used for anxiety, fatigue, anemia, impotence, infections, headache, and depression related to stress.
It is also used to increase physical endurance, work performance, longevity, and improve resistance to high-altitude sickness.
This is just a small list of many great Adaptogens that are widely available for better health and happiness.
